Hamachi, also known as Japanese amberjack or yellowtail, have a prominent yellow band that runs along the length of the body, as well as a yellow tail, hence their name.  It is a favorite of sushi chefs for its incredible flavor and fatty, white flesh.  The finest specimens of these fish are caught of the northern shores of Honshu in the Sea of Japan.

This large and brilliantly colored fish is depicted on mulberry-based rice paper containing prominent wood fiber inclusions with acrylic ink and finished with lightfast pigments. Wet mounted for rigidity and archival stability.  This is a one of a kind original artwork.

Medium - Acrylic Ink on Unryu w/Prominent Fiber Inclusions.

Framed Dimensions - 37in x 26in

Frame Material - 1.5in Natural Oiled Cherry

NOTE: Artwork listed in the 'Kindred Tides' Collection is currently on exhibit at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath Maine and will not ship until after the exhibit closes on September 29th, 2024.
